When you are first diagnosed with cataracts, you may not find that there is any effect on your vision at all. That is not uncommon. Over time, though, cataracts increase in both size and quantity, resulting in your eyesight becoming hindered by cloudiness and blurriness. At Eyewear Express, we are dedicated to the early detection and addressing cataracts with our Paducah eye treatment.
As with many common eye diseases, it is true that cataracts form and develop without any obvious symptoms. It’s a big reason why you should come in for a yearly eye exam at our office. Our Paducah eye treatment is most effective when cataracts are found before they become more advanced. A prescription for eyeglasses or contact lenses is nearly always sufficient to counteract the cloudy and blurry vision entirely or to an acceptable extent. For most patients, our Paducah eye treatment will consist of those prescription lenses and any updates to them that are required over time so that they are keeping pace with the progression of the disease. Eventually, though, it’s very possible that your glasses or contacts will no longer be good enough. The solution is surgery, which is both safe and produces typically outstanding results. It consists of the removal of your natural eye lenses, which have been overrun with cataracts. You will then need a replacement for those lenses so that you are able to focus properly. Multi-focal intraocular lens implants, or IOLs, stand in for your natural ones magnificently, providing clear and sharp vision at all distances. Not only will you have a level of vision that you had probably long given up on recovering, but you may find it is better than you had before cataracts.
If you would like to schedule a yearly eye exam or you are noticing that your vision has become cloudy or blurry, contact our Paducah eye treatment office and we will arrange a convenient time for you.
